Clinical Psychologist

Ms. Ateka Sayyed is working with cancer centre since the last 4 years as clinical psychologist.

Clinical psychologist in Cancer Care focuses psychological problems related to treatment, such as chemotherapy, surgery & radiation. Cancer patients face a variety of problems and undergo psychological turbulence during the clinical course of their disease which can cause a great burden and place the patients in an unstable status, involving anxiety, depression and expectation related to problems faced in daily life and the unreliability of the therapeutic effects. Clinical psychologist maintains close contact and communication with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to provide the support demanded by the patients and their family through a variety of approaches. One to One Counselling offered to the patient & their relatives during & after their cancer treatment, but it can sometimes be beneficial for family members and loved ones, too. It eases the sense of isolation and helps them to find ways to face the challenges ahead.

We at Kamalnayan Bajaj Cancer Center RHC have create Breast Care Support group which includes Breast Cancer patients and Survivors currently we have 213 group members.

Clinical psychologist organizes Group Activities for Cancer Patients & Survivors to improve their psychological well being such as Art therapy, yoga, dance, hair, skin, physiotherapy, diet etc. Support group activities help patient & their caregiver to cope with the emotional aspects of cancer by providing a safe place to share, work through feelings and challenges. Patients learn from other cancer patients facing similar situations.
